Photo Requirements
The quality of photography in our magazine can drastically impact the reader experience — positively or negatively. All photos should act in a kind of symmetry with the magazine’s layout elements, lending a sense of artfulness and professionalism.
+ Image Resolution should be 300dpi
+ We accept JPEG, EPS, or TIFF files
+ Images should be in CMYK color mode for print (Grayscale accepted)
In addition to proper resolution and file type, lighting and composition play a crucial role in making a good photograph.
+ Make sure subject in foreground is well lit and in crisp focus
+ Neutral/soft backgrounds work well
+ Portrait subjects don’t need to be looking at camera. Consider natural poses
+ Consider location shots. Subject can appear in an interesting environment
+ Our editorial team can also find an eye-catching and appropriate stock image
